is there any difference between a blow off valve and a dump valve. apart from the sound.

A blow off valve and a dump valve are the same thing  .

Not sure what they are like on a GT4 but HKS SSQ is a good quality bov.

Interesting, maybe I shall have a look. I have a DV24 and was told it was too weak for the car by an expert. It dumps all the time! (not literally, but almost) Having no previous turbo experience I don't know whether this is right. I called Bailey with the intent of a stiffer spring as advised but they assure me it is fine as it is.

Any thoughts on spring weakness?

R2D2 sounds good just from the name.

i have a dv34 and mine does dump all the time. as far as i can work out it is because it is a single piston valve, same as your dv24. i got told that the gt4 needs a double piston valve.

but if you get anywhere with the stronger spring theory let me know. cheers mate and good luck
