If its a 55 reg then it should have the brace fitted as its a 'facelift'.

Mine never came with one as it's a 2001 registered 2002 model T-sport. so pre-facelift. Toyota made a few changes to the corolla in 2003 i think and revised it with the facelift version which you have as in your sig,

things like the brace.

auto windcreen washers

alloy pedals

lowered by 20mm from standard pre-facelift t-sport

Front headlaps revised.

front spoiler revised

rear bumper revised.

I think thats about it.

As Armz says, you have a facelift model so it comes as standard. Armz and I have the prefacelift model (prior to the second half of 2004) and this didn't have a front strut brace. I now have a Cusco one fitted which I sourced from Australia and ended up costing £105 delivered and taxed which is less than half the cost of the TTE and TRD ones I believe!

I bought a realy cheap 30 pound one from a seller in China on eBay. IT does the job, but now i think i may go for a slightly more shiney bling one to match my shiney air filter heatsheild.

I saw a Cusco one on eBay from australia for 259$ but then he wants another 79$ or so delivery. works out 160£ with current exchange rates.

Then there is alwaysa Toms one on prolex-uk.com @ 140 + del. the toms one hasn't got the blue coloured bits at the ends where it sits on the mounts like the cusco one. and seeing as my car is monty carlo blue i'm rather partial to anything blue lol. But there is always the chance of getting hit with customs duties on the already 160 for the cusco, so my blue fetish could get expensive. :D

Does the type of brace actually make a real world difference to handling? the different brand and also the facelift t-sport brace which has a 'damper'. I don't think compressors have the damper bit.

I'll grab a decent pic of the Cusco for you, as the last one I posted was from a rubbish angle, at night, in the rain lol

I had a Astra SXi for about 2 years and was planning to get a SRiT but chose to get a Corolla Tsport. I have to admit the handling on my SXi felt so tighter than the Tsport. But ive got one of those struts off of eBay and got myself some tte springs which hopefully wouldnt feel like im driving a lorry. But I have prefacelift model.

I have to admit people dont give me the looks as i Used to when i was in my astra. But when they hear the VVTi-L they looked confused....

The confused looks always make me smile. 'Wolf in sheeps clothing' comes to mind. :D
