Hi i need a car alarm for my 1999 yaris and came across this one (New LOCTOPUS Flip Key Fob Car Alarm Complete System)

It comes with a blank flip key that controls the alarm

And when the key has been cut it will turn the engine on it says

but dosnt the yaris keys have like a transponder chip in them to work the immobilizer how would these alarm work or would it? or is it just a waste of money

Thank you

I'd be wary - that system is pretty cheap (£22 I think) but you probably get what you pay for.

I'd stick with an established brand, and preferably get a system that can be fitted to CAT1 standard.

You can get for example a CAT1 Toad alarm fitted for about £200 which would be a much better investment IMHO.

I wouldn't bother

stick with a decent well known company, get yourself a clifford.

Ditto what others say, stick with a known reputable company.

Something like Clifford or Toad would be your best bet.

Yeah, I know its more expensive than a cheper, less known alarm make - but you gotta ask yourself how much is it worth to you to stop your car being nicked?!?!?
