i have got a new head unit in my corolla sr and have notice when on long jurneys am having problems pickin up fm radio station is they sum kind of radio signel booster in the orignal headunit ... can i puchase such an item to solve the problem

carnt find anything but a a m8 of mine is a good electition and is goin to try and design and make me one that will do the job a treat :lol: digitel radio converter :lol:

Have you got it set to re-tune itself when it finds a stronger station Carl? If not, that could be the cause of the problem.

yes there is such a setting an it hasnt made a difference i just wounder if theres a signel amplifier in the original headunit n that may b the reason for poor radio reception ??

i've seen signal boosters in newer cars, but they are usually separate from the headunit. its posible that the further you drive the weaker the signal will get, so you may have to re-tune your radio for the best reception. for example where i live (near manchster), radio 1 is best on 98.9 fm, but when i travelled south in the summer, i had to retune i several times to get the clearest signal. your old headunit may have automatically retuned to accomodate for this, and most aftermarket units should do the same, you just have to set it up
