Rear Licence Plate

Just a quick question. I'm due to have new plates put on my T-sport next week. I was looking at how to change them, the front one is easy, 2 screws and its done. But the rear has no screw holes.

Does anyone know how the rear plate can be removed for a new one to be put on? Is it held on with very strong adhesive or does the boots plastic need to be removed from the inside to get to the plates fixings from behind?

Any help would be appreciated.

There are two pre drilled and threaed holes in the back panel, but if they are not being used, the plate will be held on with sticky tape/pads. Gently lift one edge of the plate and take a peep behind whilst applying some pressure, it should just come off. Kingo

Thanks for the fast reply.

I did lift the edge to have a look but it was on so tightly that there is no way of telling. So if sticky pads aren't used then there is a possibility of having to open up the inside of the boot lid? if so how does it come out are they pop rivets?

I'm panicing slightly because i arranged for the transfer and had the new plates made up, presuming that the plates would be like every other car i have owned. 2 simple screws for front and back plates. Simple job to replace.

I should get my new v5 doc, mot and tax disc anytime this week so have to swap the plates then and there before driving to prevent having to get pulled over by police as the old plate will no longer be valid.
