had my rear pads done a while back but just noticed that the calipers rattle

while driving on rough surface so i checked them by hand and there seems to be a lot of free play in the caliper when i shake it.now every thing is tight and the shims and holders are all in place and they are toyota pads just wanted to know if this is the norm for celica brake calipers is there anyone with a celica that can verify this

If your sure the caliper is tight and the shims and pad clips are fitted , i would suggest a new shim/clip kit from toyota as the old one's may now be weak and not holding the pads firm.

One other thing springs to mind, the pins that allow the caliper to move in as the pad wear, may need greasing or replacing, hope thats some help,

Bob.
