Just thought I'd let myself be known here, always glad to be with like minded people :)

Got my T-Sport a week ago, really enjoying it; the lift is still making me grin like a Cheshire Cat :yahoo:

BP are getting a fair few quid off me as a result though :P

Just a few questions though. Firstly, how intrusive is the VSC? I've found on a few roads that it cuts in very early, but on others it doesn't. I'm wary of different types of road surfaces affecting the handling, but it just seems a bit odd that it cuts in at low speeds on moderate bends.

I've read that the dash around the stereo is sometimes poorly fitted, mine is beginning to come away from the trim. I've had a quick look and pushed it back, but it doesn't seem to be clicking back into place properly. Any ideas?

Cheers

Bones

Welcome.

Good choice of car.

Interesting that you should say it kicks in early, as there have been a few threads about VSC on Toyota cars, with some posters suggesting that theirs doesn't kick in often enough.

I've never found any figures from Toyota on when it should kick in. The only car I've had such a system on was a Boxster and they published the figures as a feature of the system - i.e. it deliberately let you get away with some spirited driving without getting in the way but was there to help when you needed it.

I think it only came on once in 18 months, but when it did I think it saved me from losing it, so it was worth it.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone manages to get figures for the Toyota system.

Hey Bonesy. You'll like it here. :group-cuddles:

My TC and VSC always goes off at a very predictable corner, going round hanger lane gyratory when there are no other cars on the road at 30+ very early in the mornings. I've never managed to get them to go off any other time, oh apart from one or two fast starts on slippery wet roads.

But that predicatble corner always loses it, i would say major oversteer then it kicks in and stays on for a good 2-3 seconds while trying to step back into line. (Rear outside tyre on the bend was slightly low on air )That was before i lowered it with TTE springs, now the TC and VSC are pretty quiet doing about 40+ very cleanly on that same bend, plus i have checked all tyre pressures are ok now. Haven't tried to push it any further as i want to get comfortable with the new springs and handling before being silly.

I'm using the Bridgestone tyres. If your TC and VSC are engaging at strange times, i would suggest check all tyre pressures are good, and you are using good tyres. Possibly you could be using something other than the standard tyres that come with the t-sport.

Armz.

Hi mate and welcome to the club!

My VSC kicks in abit too especially if the roads are wet but I'm putting it down to the rubbish bridgestones on the car.

Hi Bonesy, welcome to TOC :)

On the old bridgestones, I only managed to see the VSC lights come on during sheet rain that was sitting nice and thick on the motorway. The car was really struggling and the light was flashing every few seconds for about 15 minutes. I haven't had any issues with VSC since getting the new tyres (Toyo Proxes T1-R) :)

Thanks for the replies fellas :)

I previously had a 1.2 Corsa :P I had a thought about tyre pressures today so I had a quick check, seemed the two rear bridgestones were a bit on the low side. I've given them a bit of air, so we'll see how things progress from here. Bottom line, I have a feeling the crappy Bridgestones on the car are...crap.

Eventually I'll get round to lowering it which should improve handling a little.

Quick Edit: In response to Mark's sig, my corsa was incapable of revving, nor did it have a 'Bodykit' on it :P

Must be your aftershave. It sends them wild ;)

Last week I had two young lads in a little Citroen Saxo 1.0 wanting to race me. Said his Granny drives a car like mine. At least she's got taste!

Needless to say I didn't waste my petrol though I really wanted to. Scared the kids might crash or something.

LOL they clearly know nothing about cars, it just fustrates me because im only 21 so they see me in the CTS and must automatically think...challenge, you can see them at the lights turn to there 4 mates crammed into the car... "ah yes the Corolla T Sport is no match for the might of my 3bhp beast of a fiesta with clear lexus lights and stupid sparco seat belt pads! That, plus the go faster stripes and the dodgy spoiler and paint job makes me unbeatable!"

30 seconds later...

"Wow where has the Corolla gone?...Na cos i wasnt going for it anyway otherwise i would of cained him innit!"

Silly little boys in thier silly little cars, im seriously thinking of putting the spec of the T-Sport in the window so the naive little boys will know what they are dealing with lol...

Wow needed to gt that off my chest, sorry :D

Cheers
