hi,

i v'e just bought an alarm for my rolla, its an lea 826, does anyone else have one? what do you think?

its basically a clifford concept 600 but at half the price!

it has remote start, and thats where my problem is.

before fitting it says that the car must be able to start without you having to use the accelerator,

although my car starts first time, when its cold i do need to use the accelerator. the instructions say that you should clean the carb, but mine is a gti(AE92) so i dont have the carb?(is that right?), what can i do to make it start without having to use the gas.

i have new spark plugs.

any help on this matter or info about where to get the alarm fitted would be great!

bein a gti it should be injection(?) so no it wont have a carb

and its unusual to use the pedal to get an inject goin

perhaps needs a tune up?

what exactly do you mean by tune up? :help:

A tune up is perhaps a little misleading, as the ECU on the car should take car of the cars fine tuning. You can however do yourself a favour by making sure that things like injectors, air flow meter, and intake air temperature sensor are clean. Make sure your air and fuel filters are in good condtion. How old is the rest of the ignition system on the car? Perhaps a new set of leads etc would be a good idea.

Once you've done all that, it might be a good idea to reset the ECU so it can re-learn your driving technique, without you using the throttle on startup.
