:o Hi There, I'm wondering if there is somebody out there that can help me. I have 1999 T reg Avensis which I have just fitted front fog lights too, this was a simple task up until the point where to plug the switch into. The wiring was already in the bumper as was the fuse for the front fog light system but no plug for the switch which is mouted next to the mirror control switch. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The switch for the fog lights isn't located next to the mirror control switch, but it is integrated in the headlight switch. So you'll probably find the wiring there as well. The best solution would be to find a such a headlight switch ofcourse, instead of mounting an extra switch.

Hi Guido,

Thanks for the reply, I did mention this to the spares guy at my Toyota dealer and he insisted that this was the switch for my model even though the rear fog lights (standard) fitment to the car work as you say from the intergrated light switch, saying this if i use an intergarted light switch which operates both front and rear fog lights do you know if it would be a straight swop for the intergrated switch which I have at the moment that only operates the rear lights. Regards Scooby

I'm not sure, but I guess that if there is wiring in the bumpers, and there are fuses for the fog light, then we can assume that the wiring for the switch is also present.

The integrated switch is probably only for models with factory-fitted fog lights. I've owned a '98 Avensis, it had foglights and the integrated switch as I described. But your toyota dealer may be right, and there may be a different switch if you mount the foglights afterwards. But then again, he is the toyota dealer, he should know this.

Ok thanks again for your help, much appreciated, i'll try and source an intergrated switch and see if it works before purchasing or taking it in to Toyota to wire in the additional switch.......Cheers
