Dnx Exhausts

The DNX range a relatively new manufacturer of after market parts so i don't suppose many people have got first hand experience with this particular range yet.

From the pic though it looks like it should be a direct fit but I'm sure I read somewhere that the DNX boxes had to be welded to the original pipework?!

I've never heard of them

Check the writing on the eBay site a bit closer

A SLEEVE OR DISTANCE PIPE MAY NEED TO BE MADE

I wouldn't bother, more trouble than it's worth especially if you have to modify the exhaust

Forde,

Hi, I have a DNX tail box fitted to my TS. It's been on the car for 12 months now. I fitted it myself, a straight replacement for the original with no mods at all. Cost was under £100 from Potn. Although it's marketed for the 1.3, the inlet pipe is the same diameter as the existing TS front system. It uses the same tapered flanged joint, with doughnut seal and clamp. Not sure if they're available with the flat oval twin bolted flange type clamp found on some models. The quality is excellent being manufactured completely from stainless steel and polished all over. The welding is very tidy.

As to the sound, at first I thought it was a bit mellow when cold, but after a run it tends to get a bit louder when its fully warmed up! It also burbles nicely on the overrun.

I can post some pics, or even an MP3 later if you're interested?

Oddbod.
