New to this forum so hello everyone. :D

I've test driven a 2005 XT3 today which I'm a little bit in love with!

I'm afraid I've only just started researching the Rav4 today so would welcome any advice/feedback/recommendations etc!

28k miles and it's up for £12k which includes Toyota warranty...

Thanks,

Kaz

Thanks Chatman, it's a petrol.

Just read on a review site that the xt3 is slow ie needs v high revs to overtake.

Not entirely sure of this myself as didn't get a chance to test that on earlier drive, anyone help?

Unless your planning to street race the RAV..... B) B)

The newer 4.3 version 2.0 is quite adequate and would make most other cars quake...

If your after some serious tire squealing (figure of speech as it's 4 wheel drive ;) ) and hot hatch ripping burning up try the RAV T180

Some more member's with the petrol versions will add there details when they log on next....

Hi Kaz,

It sounds like a very good deal and I am sure you will not be disappointed with your RAV.

You've got a good first reaction to the car, check it carefully, including the paperwork, have another test drive if you think that is the right thing to do and if you are still happy, go with your gut feeling. Good luck!

Well Hello Kaz

I have test driven both the diesel RAV4 2 the diesel Rav4 3 and petrol Rav4 3, all of them great vehicles to drive.

As the 4.3 spec was within my budget I decided to go for one of the newer shaped Ravs. Then I had the to make my mind up which engine....

I decided on the 2ltr petrol purley on the initial cost and that me other half did not like the noise from the diesel engine(which becomes quieter as you speed up...) . I had a go in a T180 and a XTR and must say that the T180 shifts  quite nicely, I left a mondeo TDCI way behind on the motorway slip road when joining the M4 at Reading...the XTR was'nt as nippy and the petrol was the slowest out the lot...

Depends really what you want the Rav4 for... I need the boot space and the fact that you can transport 3 kids and a small wife (2 kids in kid seats in the back with the wife and one in the front - with the airbag turned off) in it.

If you can stretch your budget go for a newer Rav they are a tad bigger and brought up to date...Other than that I am sure that if you join the Rav4 club you'll have loads of fun with it...CANT WAIT TO PICK MINE UP ON FRIDAY....
