Toyota Service Plan

Anybody here have any advice on whether it's worth the money?

I signed up to a service plan for my MR2 that comes to about £280 per service and covers everything Toyota say needs to be done at each interval (according to the salesman). It'll be covering two fulls and one half. Can anyone shed some light on the service plan? Originally they had me on a £340 per service plan which included air filters and pollen filters (replaced even if they didn't need to be). Is it worth doing?

I see so many users on this board coming back with services near the £150 mark. Am I missing something or is the dealer ripping me off?

As a rough guide my services work out at approximately £120 for the intermediate and about £280 to £300 for the main service, so it looks to me that you might be paying over the odds, unless you are doing it on a monthly budget plan in which case they are bumping on credit charges.

As far as changing the pollen filter......We don't have one ;)

If it's the same plan that we sell, it is ideal if you do average mileage and you don't want a bill to pay at each service date. There are no credit charges and no bills to pay, there is an element of profit built in to pay the dealer and for the company that run the scheme, but not a rip off

Mine wasn't meant as a derogatory statement ;) , I know when working out a budget plan you have to build in a profit margin, I have used this service plan in the past and found it very convenient due to finances at the time
