New Owner - What Do I Change/add First?

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi all, ordered a Aygo+ 5dr in carbon quartz this week looks like a great city car for my wifes daily run to and from college. Picking it up next week so will post back woth first thoughts after i managed to wressle the keys off of her and had a run myself.

So looking for some advice on the important things to add/change first so far my list is:

1. glove box door - order form Toyota and self fit: looks easy enough

2. new arieal - bee sting or shark style: has anyone changed their arieal for a shark fin style is it possible? any recomendations?

3. new rims - maybe even a bigger size: anybody know if bigger wheels can be fitted, whats the downside etc.,anyone got suggestsions for where to look (online) for new rims for this car etc.

Anything else i should be considering?

thanks

ive seen a few people on here who have fitted the armrest, another thing u could change is the rear wiper with a slightly longer one so it is more effective

this is a good site for ideas: http://my107.blogspot.com/

I have had the shark fin aerial on my 107 looks really good make sure you get a credible make for good reception

I suggest getting a pair of Polarised sunglasses. On sunny days the reflection from the dash can be like looking through a net curtain. You'll really notice the difference. I keep them in the car all the time.

Remember, they must be polarised.

Happy motorin'

107 Codf, any pics? or can you remember the make you purchased?

adilmon, sunglasses check, its my wifes car and she has as many pairs of sunglasses as she does shoes so no problem there!

so far i have ordered the glove box door, armrest, rev counter kit, decent mats + boot protector.

looking out for a new rear wipper, alloys, and a decent aerial

I bought mine from www.ownersclubshop.com, the reception was a bit iffy at first bit I had to re tweak it to get it to work cost about a tenner I think

Old pic of my car this one! Make sure the area is thoroughly de greased as mine eventually had to come off as I didnt clean it correctly.

Forget all the expensive addons for the moment because the first thing to change on your new chariot is the air filter.

K&N are regarded as manufactures of some of the highest quality Air and Oil filters and they offer a direct replacement over the paper element.

The filter is not cheap at £34ish and replacing it instead of the original filter even from new willnot effect the warranty of your car but the filter is guaranteed for 1million miles or the lifetime of your car.

All you do is clean it and reoil it after about 30,000miles.The realisation that your car is being filtered by the best in the business and your economy willnot go pairshaped when the filter becomes dirty.

I drive a diesel Aygo and after nearly 4000miles of ownership the car feels relaxed and responsive.

By all means buy fancy gifts for your car but buy a K&N first, you willnot be disappointed.

Buy your on eBay where i got mine.Type in Toyota Aygo and theres always one or two up for grabs.

Good Luck

Sorry, they are bolted on. But usually, the only drilling necessary is on the accellerator pedal.

Where did you get your rear wiper blade from? Is it a 16"er, it looks great.

Thx. 16" wiper blade from Halfrauds. If I had the choice I would change it for a 16" flat blade because it will apply more pressure on the curvature of the top of the boot glass. But flat blades don't look right on the rear

The original blade was far too small.
