Strange Noise From Front End

Hi all,

I have a strange noise coming from the front end of my gen 7 190. I can only hear it with the windows open and it seems to be symmetrical (on both sides of the car). Its like a metal jingling noise and is louder in built up areas. I recently upgraded my front discs and pads (needed doing anyway) as i thought it may have been shards of rust falling into the disc vents as i drove along but even with brand new discs on, the noise is still there. Could it just be wind noise?

Any comments/ideas would be great.

Thanks

have you checked under the car? if not have a look at the exhaust heat shield near the back. the rivets usually rot and the shield drops onto the exhaust and rattles etc.

I don't know about the Celica, as I've not played with mine that much yet, but sometimes you get weights mounted on the driveshafts, to balance out one being longer than the other. They're usually held on by two bolts. If this has come loose that would account for the sound you describe. Having said that though, I haven't seen such a setup on many new cars, but just a thought anyway.

Good luck and fingers crossed it's something straight forward.
