Hi All,

New to this - and to the 21,000 mile car in the title.

It's a great car and goes like stink but the brakes...stink. The travel seems long and the bite's lacking. It looks like new pads have been fitted all round and I know the rear discs have been skimmed. The front discs have a lip - about 1.5 mm - around their outer edges but I can't feel any significant corrosion. The brakes appear not to pump up but sound/feel a touch gritty.

Incidentally, I test drove four other Celicas, two 140s and a GT. The only one with a half decent feel was an '05 140 with about 60,000 miles on the speedo.

The car goes into Vantage Toyota, York, for a warranty fix next Monday. Any thought, experiences, advice meanwhile? Any insider knowledge will be gratefully accepted.

Many thanks in advance,

Dave
