Hi all,

Just thought I'd drop in and say "HI" :D . Picked up a 2001 3dr 2.0 NV on Saturday. Certainly loving it... After driving a 2.0 Golf GTI for the last 3 years and knowing it inside out can anyone confirm if my fuel consumption sounds about right? Driving Urban/extra Urban on the way to work and getting around 30.3mpg.... I knew it would be a little more thirsty than the Golf but just thought I'd check... being a lass on my own thought some of you experienced Ravers might know?

Thanks and the forum looks fab :) :)

Hi RowanR4

Welcome to the TOC

Glad you enjoying your RAV and this RAV forum. There are a lot of good people on here and we have a good laugh too

I'm no expert and I drive a diesel but if your's is a petrol, depending on your driving style, 30-ish sounds about right.

Hi Fujisan,

Thanks for that... it is petrol. I had some problems when I bought my golf 3 yrs ago with the lamda probe which affected the fuel consumption and I think I was just a little paranoid with my Rav... I'm just getting used to how sensitive the accelerator is compaired to the golf... If I had a £1 for every time I've stalled my Rav since I'd had it I could have paid for half of it by now!!! :D

Thanks for the reassurance..

Hi Rowan, welcome to the club :D hope you enjoy the Rav it really is a good car.

Re the consumption, sounds about right, if you look at any thread a member called

Biton Walstra has replied to, look at his signature. He has two Ravs, one the same as

yours, his signature gives his MPG. You can compare. Good luck.

Dave. ;)

Hi and welcome to TOC.

Was just going to suggest the same as dave. Also, there is a thread called 'fuel consumption' (I think), which may have a some relevant figures in.

EDIT: It's called mpg, and can be found here.

Welcome to the club Rowan ,hope you are enjoying your new RAV4.

The NV RAV4 was an 1.8 2 wheel drive model and shares its engine with the 1.8 celica/corolla/avensis, some specification for you to look over.....

Engine 1ZZ-FE ,1.8 123 BHP,

0-60......12.7secs,

106 mph.

As to mpg...

Urban.....30.1

Extra Urban....45.6

Combined.....38.2

Big plus with your model is it front wheel drive only , so if any of the green tree hugging brigade tell you, your 4x4 is polluting the planet, you can put them straight :D :) .

I think some of my neighbours would agree but say the thought is 30 years too late - I originate from Somerset, moving north in 1979.

Don't worry about Steve and the lingo, he taught me what "muckle" and "chuckies" means.

I would say that matamorphosis is complete :D
