Just ripped this from the AUTOCAR test of the X-trail:

Nissan X-Trail 2.0 dCi

Test Date 12 September 2007 Price When New £25,620

Running costs are as you’d expect with a competitive CO2 output and fair fuel consumption; we averaged 29.9mpg during our test.

Under 30mpg for a 2.0l diesel..................I hope they were pushing it very very hard!

ACO Reigns In The LeMans Diesel Domination With Even More Restrictions

As announced by Jean-Claude Plassart , the President of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest during last June's press conference before the 2007 Le Mans 24 Hours, the ACO has taken advantage of the intervening months to refine its study of the equivalence between petrol and diesel-engined cars in motor racing.

Let the diesels run free!!!

If the petrol mob can't keep up that's there problem!

For years they never restricted petrol engines to give derv burners a chance, why change the rules to help petrol engines now!

The world is turning to DIESEL, one day it will rule the world, Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I'll get me coat

Bernie will never let it happen!

The only overtaking is during the pit-stops for re-fueling. Imagine a diesel F1 car that never had to be refilled during the race..............it would spoil Bernie's thrilling show ............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

We wouldn't want run-flats in F1, as pit stops would take the best part of 2 months to complete (while we wait for the tyre to be repaired) :lol2:

It's also good to see the black stuff getting into touring cars as well, with the Seat Leon TDI

Seat are thinking of bringing this car to the BTCC next year

Meet a car which would probably fail an MoT, but not for its registration plate. With thick black smoke billowing from its exhausts, it would struggle with the emissions test!

In fact, Cadillac engineers will be fuming with this spy shot. It reveals their secret plans for a tax-busting diesel version of its new CTS. The range currently comprises only petrol options, and it really needs an oil-burner to compete with BMW and Mercedes rivals. But this doesn’t appear to be the cleanest unit on the market. While it’s common for diesels to give out some black smoke, the plumes seen here are exceptionally thick.

It looks as though there is plenty of work to do before this new derv V6 powerplant hits dealers in 2009.

EDIT:

Just seen this.....

    Should rip the tyres of the wheels then.............. Audi adds 240HP V6 TDI to Q7 range

  • 2 weeks later...

Diesel is now officially more popular than petrol.

More than 898,500 new diesel cars were sold just in the UK in 2006, accounting for 38.3 per cent of the market and in the European market as a whole diesel sales exceeded the landmark 50 per cent.

Yep and our Government keeps Pumping up the price of Diesel...More people useing it so they can make more money :censor: :censor:

Anyway on a lighter note...I want one of these......

The Touareg R50 has VW’s 4.9-litre V10 diesel but with power upped from 313bhp to 346bhp. Torque also climbs from 553lb ft to 627lb ft. That means the 0-62mph sprint is reduced from 7.4 to 6.7 seconds.
