When i bought my avensis, it had 2 problems. First was lambda sensors. The 2nd was the VSC. It kept turning itself off. At the same time as the VSC OFF light came on, the EM light came on. I could not turn the VSC back on. It would turn itself back on after a while. It has just been in to the Toyota dealer, (the car came from a 2nd hand car dealer). The fault is with the VVTi unit. It needs to be replaced at a cost of £420.00. Thankfully, this problem started during the 3 month warranty. The dealer i bought it from took it to the Toyota dealer. He is not a happy bunny :P . It has so far cost him for 2 lambda and certain other things that needed doing before i would buy the car for £2500.
