1.3 Gls Questions

Mine comes with a CD and cassette player IIRC.

I don't know if it's a P1 or P2 (I haven't picked it up yet, but I do know how to check - headlights) but 1 thing I do know is that it sounds !Removed! awful with the factory fit stereo.

Basically :

Where the CD slot is on that, mine has a cassette IIRC

But then in the gap underneath lies the CD changer / player...

I think I can just rip the CD changer out, slam in my Clarion and be done with it though. Or does the stereo connect to the upper LCD with the MPG display for radio information etc?

Can someone find me a pic of a T-Sport gear knob? I wanna know what one looks like to decide if a replica knob will look good or if it even needs changing at all.

Im also after the sales brochure to the car if possible. It's a 1.3 GLS 2001 '51.

Oh and one last thing. I have a set of Alpine 1750s component Speakers I bought for my Polo - will those fit in the front of the Yaris? They're 16cm / 6.5" Speakers and 1" tweeters. Speakers are 'easy fit'

How easy is it to change the lighting on the dashboard if I wanted to? Say if I wanted everything illuminated in red or blue or white - can it be done with LEDs? I know I might need dropper resistors but I can calculate those anyway.

Any help is appreciated :) Particularly on the brochure :)

I think that you will find all the info that you need on this page:

The radio display, trip computer and the clock are all displayed through the top LCD screen. There is a way to keep the display functional and replace the setero. Have a look at those links, enough people have done this now! I can't help much anymore as I have a Mk 2 Yaris.

Easiest way to check if it's a P1 or P2? The roof aerial.

P1 aerial at front of roof.

P2 aerial at back of roof.

It's a lot easier than checking the head or rear lights though they are indeed different on the two models.

Next question - how much is the 60,000 mile service roughly? As the car's just clocked just over 56,000. Ive heard around the £500 mark isn't out the question - anyone clarify?
