ECU is your computer that controls your car... Do can reset your ECU if you take the negative (-) of the Battery and wait 10mins and connect it again .

I was told 30minutes just to be safe. No lights here either.

Fitted a K&N 57i though, not the Typhoon kit.

Besides on some kits and the Battery arrangment depending on if the car is facelift or pre-facelift. The Battery is positioned slightly differently. So depending on that it may require the Battery to be removed. So if you do remove the battery and fit the kit, chances are it will take 40-45minutes to fit completely maybe less, but more than enough time for the ECU to reset when you put the battery back in after fitting the K&N or any other brand of air filter.

I didn't have to remove my battery though as there was ample space to work. Just unplugged the termainls for 30minutes. Pre-facelift here.

It was pretty much instantly. As soon as its fitted and the ecu has been reset, you are good to go. Fuel consumption maybe abit strange for a while, but it may take a day or two depending on how much you drive for the ECU to adjust for the extra air and fuel ratio..... i think. I didn't notice the low mpg at first as i was too busy 'roaring' around, but now having fitted it just after Christmas i drive sensibly and the fuel consumption is better than with the stock airbox. I use V-power always.

You car should roar more than mine as you have the typhoon, i haven't heard one nor used one, but others on the board swear by the typhoon. Plus you have the nice shiney air pipe thing where the Induction kit filter fits onto.

Have fun with it. :)

P.s It doesn't really roar when the car is parked and being revved. the car will roar your socks off when your are driving with your foot almost flat. So go for a drive and see if you notice the difference.

As Damo C said: if it's not roaring then maybe the lights on your dash have cut the extra power and it's in 'safe-mode'?

you need to reset for the car to adjust for the extra air it's getting now you have the air induction kit. No reset and there is no telling that it will ever roar as much as you want.

Best thing to do unplug the battery for 30mins, make sure your tyres are straight. that can cause TC and VSC lights to come on if you replug the battery and the wheels are slightly offcentre. It should say that in the fitting instructions. although a few have mentioned it on these boards aswell. A search does wonders. :D

are you sure the vacuum pipes have been blocked off and are not just laying in the engine bay. as this would cause big problems as the lift solinoid relise on the vacuum for lift. also check your air flow meters bolted in the right way round and reset the ecu is a must!!!!!!
