Bye Bye Compressor

I have sold my compressor and very sad to see it go. my partners pregnant and has insisted on on a 5 door plus she hates fuel economy the Shell thing the noise etc etc etc.

I had 2 t sports previous to my compressor 51 plate 04facelift then 55 plate compressor, which if anyone is thinking of buying one thecarpeople.co.uk in wakefield are selling for a very reasonably price of £10499 thats not a plug just can`t believe how much these cars have depreciated :o .

i have also decided to move away from toyota as ive had a very bad experience with them this year, lack of support ,knowledge and £8000 offer for p/x on a new car  . I test drove the t180 and it did absoultley nothing for me its not the diesel thing my new car is diesel it just seemed a bit dead it wasn`t slow but it wasn`t quick either 180bhp???.

so all in all i will miss my compressor dearly and don`t think theres quite a car like it you can buy for the same money, only a couple of weeks ago i beat a cupra 20v t 225 off the line through 1st,2nd,3rd, went to newquay (36 mpg on way down) this month and the brother in law has a focus st and it was tit for tat nothing in it and of course it beats type r`s all day long :D .

so all in all very sad to see it go.

Farewell!!!!!

I almost traded in my 51plate 40k miles t-sport for a 56plate compressor with 50miles on the clock 2 months ago, but went against it when i got the insurance quote. The petrol thing isn't really a problem for me as i live in the middle of two Shell garages within 1 mile radius.

The compressor was at a great price too, 9950 which i could have brought down even more plus trading in my car. All in all i decided that if the car that new has depreciated that much, then how much more would it depreciate for me even if i kept it for one year as a weekend car and kept it in immaculate condition with mileage low. i'd still lose thousands.

So i decided to stay with my t-sport and mod it to my needs. Cheaper and saves alot of hassle with dealers trying to rip us off when it comes to selling/trading in.

I'd like to know what toyota has up their sleeves for a t-sport or compressor replacement, as the t-180 just isn't in the same league at all. Some compare it to t-sports with better fuel economy and all the extra gadgets but to me it's a totally different car. IT would be nice to see toyota come out with something that is a direct replacement for the CTS but with all the gadgets and extras most new cars have nowadays.

Armz.

I have only sold my compressor due to a change in circumstances if i was in your postion i would have snapped the blokes hand off at that price. All new cars lose thousands and to be fair the compressor has lost its money and are now at standard tsport money. the fuel thing isn`t a problem when u know the area but if venturing out of town it`s a nightmare. with regards to a sporty model, toyota don`t do sporty anymore celica gone mr2 gone t sport Badge gone, you only have to look at the yaris sr it was supposed to be the t sport but toyota bottled it and toned the 1.8 engine down WHY?.

The end of an era :(

Mixed emotions here, sad for your car situation and congrats on the child :P

I was thinking of going back to running a Jeep and getting rid of the Compressor but seriously it's still great fun and with 25K miles :o it's probably worth next to nothing in part-ex so I'll hang on to it for another year

I forgot to mention also the Toyota dealer only offered me 4k trade in on my car, and only having bought it October 2006 for 6k, so losing 2 grand in the space of 7-8 months. Ridiculous. The car was in the same condition i bought and and only an increase of about 500miles to the mileage. So Toyota lost a customer there for sure! Although i have saved alot not going for the compressor. All in all i think a good choice, as others are not that happy with their compressors either, but i don't want to start a flame war, so i will just say it's a mixed bag of compressor lovers and haters, which for what the car was should have been awesome, but sadly not.

Merely my opinion, don't flame me for this guys!
