I've never tried this guys, I just put my seatbelt on!

http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.p...&hl=disable

I don't know if it's totally disabled or defaults to on when you next turn on the ignition.

Let me know.

Cheers

That one did not work....

however I think another one did...will check it out later today when I go home...I do wear my belt, its just when things are on passenger seat - other than the wife...Also what happened the other day, I got out me Rav and left the engine running and the chirpin kicked off and drove the other half potty... so will see if it works...

The steps are pretty much the same as in the link you posted anchorman,

switch ignition on

set speedometer display to ODO

switch ignition off

Hold down ODO button

switch ignition on and wait 20 sec

Whilst still holidng down ODO button put seatbelt on

Let go ODO button go and that seems to do it.....I think, will test it out later today....

The seatbelt buzzer is on the customer parameter list so your dealer should be able to do it.

Here is a method off RAV4 World (slight variation with foot off the brake and looking for the instrument display);

1. turn the key to the ON position, foot off the brake

2. cycle the odometer with the trip reset button until the ODO is displayed (not trip A or B)

3. turn the ignition to the LOCK (OFF) position

4. unbuckle the driver's seatbelt if it was buckled.

5. turn the key to the ON position. when the dash lights have come on, press and hold the trip reset button and count a slow 12 seconds. (editor's note, hold it more like 30 sec)

6. while still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.

7. the odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF". toggle the beep OFF with the trip reset.

8. the process should be completed when you unbuckle or turn the key off.

If that doesn't work this one will! The fella has disconnected the actual buzzer from the instrument cluster!

Remember you don't have to fully disable it, a piece of masking tape over the top will make it very quiet.

Don't worry about getting the instrument cluster out, it is very easy.

Cheers

Na that didnt work either....

However it does look familiar to me...think I used that tip to disable the sound on my avensis....

Called MR T but they did not have a clue and suggested I call back in the morning and speak to a techie...

Will keep yous posted.

According to the workshop manual it can definitely be customised with their diagnostic module. This is cut and pasted directly from it;

HINT:

The following item can be customized.

NOTICE:
