So my cars still under warranty and I was just wondering what issues do Toyota recognise?

Like the squeaky clutch, would they admit its a problem and fix it?

Feel free to make a list :D

Cheers,

Simon

I'm not sure what you mean by admitting problems. Some faults are just that, faults, that can easily be sorted by your dealer under warranty, but there are times when a driver says this or that is happening, and it can be difficult to pin point. If your squeak is something that is faulty, and it's within warranty, then it would be sorted. I think by supplying you with a 3 year warranty, and repairing your car everytime it has a fault, is in a way, admitting to a fault and fixing it

If your talking about other known issues, like DMF's and Celica engine oil burning, then yes, they do admit faults, but wont go on forever paying for them to be repaired infinitum.

I thnik the word 'fault' is not something Toyota usually state, but 'features' yes.

In time you learn to live with it as characteristics of the car.

My clutch makes a really load groaning noise when I push the car,

Anyone else have this?

Did toyota sort it?

Just last week my clutch pedal started to creak when I push it in.

Is this what you mean?

I was going to mention it next service.

I think the six speed gearbox is recognised as poor. Mine crunches into second and sometime under hard acceleration I cannot find any gears to select

Strangely enough with regards to the 'can't find any gears to select' i started experiencing this sometime back, some days it would occur and some days not, but it was always during lift trying to get from 2nd to 3rd, or 3rd to 4th. Was bugging me so much i tried to see what i was doing that might cause it. Turned out it was my trainers!!!, as mad as it sounds. If i wear very soft soled trainers rebook classics no matter how hard i push my clutch in during hard acceleration i cannot get the next gear or even the one above that. If i wear my normal air max trainers then no problems at all. It's very strange. My left foot is excerting the same pressure regardless of shoe and its always during lift.

With my 'no gear' problem I find I am moving the stick around just to find a slot and it's like nothing is there.

The only way round it is to let go of the stick to let it centre itself then try again while lifting off the power

alright simon

well the squeky clutch is the master cylinder - the part has been moddified which sorts that problem. noisy clutch especielly on overrun and to much travel are problems toyota are aware of. i have hed my clutch changed twice in 11 months on both occasions the clutch had been a modified clutch to superceed the original which isnt up to the task. if u have a pre facelift model and you are having trouble engaging gears the shift cables have also been updated. these faults are on toyotas system and they are fully aware of these faults although some dealers arent helpful. interestingly celicas tsport dont suffer from clutch problems as they have a different clutch fitted - why they dont use these clutches in the corolla is beyond me. i still have some issues with my gearbox but toyota arent keen on stripping it incase they cant find an issue with it.
