I've ordered one as my company car - Delivery scheduled for mid October - Since ordering I've consciously looked for some others on the road, to date I've only come across one which turned out to be a colleagues !!

I own one but in the Auris range - i caught a glimpse of a T180 Avensis traveling in the opposite direction; along with that and 1 other similar experience out of town i have never seen one close up in the 2 years i have been looking. Even then i wasn't sure as i didnt see the red Badge on the back i only thought i recognised the darkened headlamps ;)

Never seen another Auris T180 either. Seen a couple of RAV T180's though - quite regularly and easy to spot with their chrome grills.

I also own one in the Auris range. I have a 3 door in decuma grey, anyone else have a 3 door? Just running mine in at the moment. Getting 41 to the gallon, thats changing gear on the indicators on the dash. Got 400 miles on the clock at the moment..

Had my Avensis T180 for just over a year now, think I had the first one in North Yorks other than the demo. Super car, extremely comfortable, low and mid range overtaking power is fantastic, even with the 'van attached! Only niggles have been total failure of GPS (replaced under warranty) in the first week and drivers offside seat squabs that collapsed three times (and no I'm not that chunky). Had 2 replaced by the dealer before Toyota did a mod and all is now well in the world.

Only seen one other.

Not got mine yet but its being prepped at the dealingship as i type, hope to pick it up early next week, i/we have gone for the tourer in silver fern gone for the protection pack and a tow bar is also being fitted, had a T spirit when they first came out but i felt the car had come out of the manufacturers in a rush and seemed unfinished somehow, mainly because the inner wing plastic protection type covers was ill fitted and a good quarter inch gap could be seen as it fitted to the bodywork.

Not seen many myself on the roads, but the reviews i have read have been favourable towards the vehicle, even though they are still calling it bland.

Love my T180 too; superb engine and v.comfy. Performance to match a hot hatch but very comfortable and relaxing to drive. No stiff bone crunching suspension and loud noises in sight!

As for being bland; the same magazines think the civic is exciting and that transformer car is new age. Unless your driving an exotic / sports car all cars are potentially bland. They are all the same but just look different. Also depends how much you care about the Badge.

I've had my company car T180 Tourer for 13 months. It's now covered over 37,000 miles and is still on the original tyres. The motor is very strong & averages 43mpg, mid-range acceleration is very impressive. My car has been 100% reliable and unlike Audi/VW or BMW diesels I have owned, the T180 doesn't burn oil. I'm very pleased. :thumbsup:

Well its arrived my new avensis tourer T180 (silver fern) picked it up yesterday afternoon whilst it was raining don't you just hate it can not give the body a good looking over to look for scratches when its wet, not been out in it today spent most of my time reading the sat nav book and manual getting use to whats what and trying to get my wife involved in setting up the sat nav ect, so far i am happy with it but its a big difference from driving the LC4s for the past 5 years, we really have been forced into the avensis due to forecourt prices plus the savings on insurance being half that of the LC4 i think i am going to enjoy driving again in more ways than one.

What? :o

I was very disappointed to find my front tyres needed replacing at the 20k mile service a few weeks back, and that's on the humble 2.2 150. What brand is yours fitted with? Mine were Bridgestone Turanzas. I thought the wear rate was hopeless, based on 2/3rd Mway driving, but the dealer and tyre outlet both thought it normal.

The car is cursed anyway, 2 accidents in first 7 months from new, short-life tyres, and a new windscreen just this week (car is 14 months old now).

(Sorry guys for going off the T180 topic, but Shoto's tyre point was very interesting to me)

HOW MANY T 180 OWNERS HAVE WE ON FORUM?

I DON'T SEE MANY ON THE ROAD

I've had my 06 T180 tourer for about a year now. I've been happy with it apart from the problems with fitting infant car seats in the back (Still not resolved).

I bought a 13 month old T180 hatch in October. Still getting used to the differences to my last car (1997 Peugeot 406 with 90BHP!) So far -

Pluses-

POWER!!! Masses of mid range in 3rd & 4th making overtaking easy;

Comfort: As comfortable as the 406 (a car that you can drive for 4 hours and not be crippled by);

Stereo: 6CD changer that plays MP3 & WMA means I can have every album I ever wanted ready, with two discs spare for the wife & kid.

Looks: Sure it's not daring, but what is these days? I've had more than one person ask if I've bought myself a Lexus and that's good enough for me.

Minuses-

Power: I know I am comparing it to a lighter car with 30BHP more, but it just doesn't stomp on in top like the wife's Civic Type-R!;

Economy: Engine only has 12k on, so may still be loosening up, but I expected to get more than 40mpg on a steady motorway run. Anyone know if the trip computer can be inaccurate?

Sat-Nav: I have the TNS310 Plus (as high as they went before colour I gather) but still no post code input? And also, I know it's a safety feature, but why do I have to stop the car for my passenger to setup the navigation? Couldn't Mr T have tied it into the bum sensors (seat belts)?

I hope to post more praise and bitching as I go

in my T180 auris i only get around 43mpg too; its actually a bit less now in winter with all the headlight, auto air con, auto lights, auto wipers blah blah etc turned on.... more like 40mpg. nearly 45mpg in summer.

But this is what you get for a car with low emissions / low levels of gas / particulate removed because of the D-Cat technology. You pay the price in economy. But i find the trip MPG computer very accurate. Just 0.3mpg out on my manual calculations.

As for civic type-r's - it my slightly lighter hatchback they've never troubled me and i can get my power down and be off before they hit their power cams. Its actually very impressive performance for a clean diesel considering i used to drive the t-sport then the t-sport compressor.

Thumbs up to this wonderful engine
