hi all well this is my first question,ive been reading through forums and answering alot of question in the reading, but this one need to clarify if ..on longer motorway drives did someone say there is an economy saving method for this like an overdrive? were is this situated??

at the mo we estimate we get around 125 miles around town for 20 quid

any advice would be great as complete novice!!!!! (unless its about dogs or malamutes i am not much good!!!)

Hi there

If you have a warning light on underneath your speedo that reads "overdrive off" then you need to press the little button on the side of the gear shift.

If it's NOT lit up then you are already in overdrive.

Also make sure that the ECT power light is NOT lit up, if it is then push the button thats in front of the gear shift.

Failing all that,,,,take your foot of the gas. I find that i get best consumption by sitting around the 70mph mark on long journeys

im on 255 kms from a full tank , which is half gone. estimate 318 miles doing 60 mph to 80 mph from a full tank. 60% derv 40 % wvo .

Paul what does the auto tick over at doing 70 mph . ???

paul can i clarify with you done this there is an orange light on the dash that says o/d off but the ect botton is on i wasnt sure what to do...so asked again!!!

what does it all mean? if we driving round town also should i have o/d off

Hi Booster

Sorry for the slow reply, very busy at moment and trying to fit our new bathroom etc etc in between the house re-wires

Mine sits on 2000 at 60mph, just a fraction over 2500 at 70 and just on 3000 at 90, I try to keep the revs as low as pos as i'm only getting 400km to the tank on a good run but having said that i am now running 50/50 on wvo which i get free so it's 'swings and roundabouts' really
