Voice Command Button - 04 Avensis T-spirit

Bought the above car 2nd hand a week ago and was trying all the buttons and found that the voice command button on the steering wheel doesn't seem to do anything - it supposed to beep when pressed and then I say "FM" or "track up" but there is no beep. What am I doing wrong? ;)

I assume you have satnav. open the screen and the voice commands should now work.

Sorry what do you mean open the screen? Its open, all it asks to do is press enter. Im I being stupid?

press enter then. I find on my 04 t-spirit the voice button only works when the satnav is on. you don't have to set a destination, just have the map on.

I'm told that voice controls only work with the full colour version of the satnav.

Well I must admit I do have the colour satnav system. I've tested my earlier statement to be true. I did not know the voice command button was available unless you had the colour satnav.

Since the poster mentions having a screen requesting him to press enter then I assumed he had same system as me.
