There are loads out there for me.

U2 - Running to Stand Still

Please wait a few seconds for Video to load!

It's about a woman addicted to heroin.

And so she woke up

Woke up from where she was lyin' still.

Said I gotta do something

About where we're goin'.

Step on a steam train

Step out of the driving rain, maybe

Run from the darkness in the night.

Singing ah, ah la la la de day

Ah la la la de day.

Sweet the sin, bitter the taste in my mouth.

I see seven towers, but I only see one way out.

You gotta cry without weeping, talk without speaking

Scream without raising your voice.

You know I took the poison, from the poison stream

Then I floated out of here, singing

Ah la la la de day

Ah la la la de day.

She walks through the streets

With her eyes painted red

Under black belly of cloud in the rain.

In through a doorway

She brings me white golden pearls

Stolen from the sea.

She is ragin'

She is ragin'

And the storm blows up in her eyes.

She will suffer the needle chill

She's running to stand still.

I usually end up trembling at the crescendo to Tubular Bells 1 or Tubular Bells 2. Tubular Bells 3 does not have the same effect however.

OHHHHHHHH I have loads of songs that reduce me to tears and remind me of happier times.

Guns N Roses...Patience and Sweet Child of Mine.!

A couple of Muse tunes, their names elude me at this moment.

And Jinxed I thought I was the only one in the world who loved WASP......I love Sweet Cheetah....that song makes me shiver in a nice way, and Forever Free is very haunting.

I am going to have to come back to this thread when I remember the names of songs. ^_^

I remembered.......The Rasmus mmmmmm lush lead singer and the tune that has nice memories for me is "The one I love is taking me under" ....not too sure of the song title though but that is a line in the song.

I can't believe 6music! They seem to be resurrecting Frank Zappa!! Dancing Fool is playing right now!!!

What doth the current generation make of this artist, I wonder.

This one is still a shrewd observation

Frank could always make me laugh.

I love this especially the live version, it brings a lump to my throat just typing

Depeche Mode

Somebody

I want somebody to share

Share the rest of my life

Share my innermost thoughts

Know my intimate details

Someone who'll stand by my side

And give me support

And in return

She'll get my support

She will listen to me

When I want to speak

About the world we live in

And life in general

Though my views may be wrong

They may even be perverted

She'll hear me out

And won't easily be converted

To my way of thinking

In fact she'll often disagree

But at the end of it all

She will understand me

Aaaahhhhh....

I want somebody who cares

For me passionately

With every thought

With every breath

Someone who'll help me see things

In a different light

All the things I detest

I will almost like

I don't want to be tied

To anyone's strings

I'm carefully trying to steer clear of

Those things

But when I'm asleep

I want somebody

Who will put their arms around me

And kiss me tenderly

Though things like this

Make me sick

In a case like this

I'll get away with it

And in a place like this

I'll get away with it

Aaaahhhhh....

  • 3 weeks later...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0MgNsvc9No

Although this isnt a very good quality vid, the lyrics are so sad, so meaningful ... Luther Vandross - Dance With My Father ... every time without fail I cry :( :'( lol

Back when I was a child, before life removed all the innocence

My father would lift me high and dance with my mother and me and then

Spin me around ‘til I fell asleep

Then up the stairs he would carry me

And I knew for sure I was loved

If I could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him

I’d play a song that would never, ever end

How I’d love, love, love

To dance with my father again

When I and my mother would disagree

To get my way, I would run from her to him

He’d make me laugh just to comfort me

Then finally make me do just what my mama said

Later that night when I was asleep

He left a dollar under my sheet

Never dreamed that he would be gone from me

If I could steal one final glance, one final step, one final dance with him

I’d play a song that would never, ever end

‘Cause I’d love, love, love

To dance with my father again

Sometimes I’d listen outside her door

And I’d hear how my mother cried for him

I pray for her even more than me

I pray for her even more than me

I know I’m praying for much too much

But could you send back the only man she loved

I know you don’t do it usually

But dear Lord she’s dying

To dance with my father again

Every night I fall asleep and this is all I ever dream.
