Avensis D4d 2001 Airlock

hi... just after some advice.

the avensis ran out of diesel, i put some in and it won't start.

someone said its an airlock.

how do i get rid of this airlock?

You can't. A dealer/mechanic has to re-prime the diesel pump.

Open the bonnet, you will find the fuel filter attatched to the bulkhead on the passenger side. On top of it is a primer pump (black button), pump it untill you can feel resistance, start the engine Job done.

Yep as above. If you still cant get it started get someone else to pump the primer while you turn the key.

May take a while but keep trying :)

i followed your instructions and it worked a treat.

you saved us a few quid!

only thing is we had to jumpstart it as the Battery was flat.
