Firstly like to say hello at the fellow Toyota Owners...

I currently own a Thunder Gray CTS and i have done since June '06... and i would like to say I have enjoyed every bit of it :D however i have 2 questions...

When i push the car or slowing down I here a weard grinding like noise from the car... I have been told by one person that it is the clutch and by another its a bearing in the gearbox... I haven't got a quote for the clutch as of yet but i've been quoted nearly 800 big ones just to replaces these bearing... has anybod got any issues like this...

and

What is the best unleaded to use? I normally use fuels that have RON 95 or higher but I want to make sure that i'm using the right one.

Thanks for you help...

Heres a couple of piccys...

that grinding noise is probably the clutch - i had the same problem. does the noise when you lift of the accelerator? if it is u need a new clutch. is your car still got the original clutch? the original has been updated twice as theyu werent up to the job. there are issues with the gearbox but i cant get to the bottom of that yet. i'm glad i extended my warranty!

Yea hope its the clutch not the gear box ! i mean 800 !!!!!!!! how much would a new clutch cost ? & what issues are witht he gear box? this got me thinking......gonna take the car to my local toyota speciliast to check out just to make sure ! if anything is wrong like gear bx or clutch which i hope there isnt im gonna try go back to the car dealer as i still got warrenty on it ! though i dont notice anything wrong with the gearbox or clutch on mine apart from clutch makes a slight noise when pressed down..............

the noise when u press clutch is the master cylinder, part has been updated to rectify this problem.

if its the same grinding sound that i hav, it is the clutch, i took it to Mr T and they said it was the Bearings in the gearbox, so they changed all the bearings, luckily i had warranty. but after a week or 2 the grinding sound came back. It turns out that this is fault is in most Tsports and u cant fix it  so ive just ignored the sound now. But i hope some1 cud rectify that for me

Welcome to the Club!

Looks like you've got a facelift bumper on the rear, is that correct?

Thanx...

TBH i have no idea if it's the face lift bumper as its about a year and a half older then the facelift corollas...
