T-sport To.....fiesta?

My T-Sport is now 2 years old and to be honest I'm getting a bit bored of it. Since i dont like any of the new Toyotas it is time to look elsewhere and the Ford Fiesta ST has caught my eye. Now i KNOW that Ford doesn't come with the same sort of write up as Jap cars do, but is this a case of living in the past in terms of reputation? Are the new models any different to any other equivalent car of a different make?

Has anyone on here had a Ford in the recent past? Or know of anyone with the Fiesta ST/can recommend it?

Thanks :D

Nice looking cars, plenty of toys, a lot more common than a YTS. Take a test drive and see what you think. Why are you bored with your T Sport?

I just want something new to play with - something a bit bigger and faster, and i'm not interested in any modding to get the T-Sport shifting any quicker. I'm really disappointed in the current Toyota models though as i'd rather stick to a Jap car. But they're all so dull the now IMO, the shapes/designs seem to all be merging into the 1 'bubble' type car - not nice at all.

So it's time for a change - I just don't know what to.

I've heard nothing but praise for the Fiesta ST, but TVOR is right, they are ten a penny.... however they admittedly do have a rather nice "stern" look to them which even I, a Ford-despiser, actually find slightly endearing!

I know someone who has a Focus ST and swears by it.... be warned though - just because it's an ST does not mean its devoid of cheap looking plastics! In fact bearing in mind the Focus ST is 20k I was actually disappointed at how "cheap" it looked - but I don't know if the Fiesta ST is similar.

What about the new Civic Type R if you're after something funky, yet sporty?

Thanks for the info B)

The one thing that i thought might let the Fiesta down would be the interior - i've only seen pictures so far but it doesn't compare to the Yaris. In saying that, I think a lot of the higher spec cars are let down by the interior - so we're probably just spoiled with what we have the now?

re the Civic type-r, I do like it, although probably prefer the older style - but it's just too big for what i'm looking for.

 From the website it looks like it only comes in 5 door?

It also falls into the 'what am i' category! Is it a new clio....corsa....yaris....nope sorry, just can't tell the difference. :(

I'm starting to think i'm too fussy!

It's practically the same size as the Fiesta so don't let that put you off, I'd definately go for 1 of the old shape if they weren't group 17 insurance

Apart from that, how about a Mitsubishi Colt CZT?

Does no-one know that Civic Type-R's are alot of money? They're also not in the same class as a Fiesta or Yaris. :)

Again it is too 'samey' IMO.

I think i've talked myself into the Fiesta ST to be honest, on the outside anyway. I'm going to go to a garage during the week and have a closer look and possibly a test drive - it would have to be either the white with blue stripes or blue with white stripes that i go for though, thats a deffinate! :)

Yeah of course. Although I said i'm getting bored of it, I still think it's a great car. It's the fact i've had it 2 years now, not that i'm not enjoying it anymore. Had the new 1.8 been nice I'd probably just stick to the Yaris but i just really don't like it unfortunately.

Yeah I hate the new SR, and it seems slow for the power too as it's slower than the old TS.

Wait until 2009, that new fiesta verve concept looks awesome.

Funny how a lot of people dislike the new SR and yet spend £100’s on making their cars appear similar :D

Would you care to qualify what you mean by that........................Who, and how? :)
