Roof Rails

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum.

We have just bought a new Verso SR 2.2 D4D, so far very pleased with it! (I've only driven it for a week as I had to go to China on business).

There are a few minor gripes - Why does the electric window lock, lock all 3 windows (passenger & 2 rear)? You can't even use the master switch on drivers door, seems very strange. Car is a little noisy from cold start, idle is also quite noise inside, but apart from that I think it is a very good car, very well put together - our last car was a Renault Scenic!! I really like the fact that you can play MP3's off cds - very handy!

One question I do have; does anyone know if you can purchase & fit Toyota roof rails, same as on T3 & T180 models? Is it a relatively easy job? I've had a trawl around the internet but can't find anything. I was going to ask dealership, but haven't got round to it yet.

Appreciate any help

Regards,

Welcome to the Toyota forum

This thread may be of interest to you also Parts King may be able to point you in the right direction regarding cost and if it is possible to fit

It is the T spirit and T180 which have the roof rails as standard .

Regarding the electric windows I am sure all the cars I have had it has always been the passenger windows that were locked and the drivers was able to be operated

The electrics are strange on the verso and I think this is something Toyota will have to sort out when they update the model ( such as you have to leave the key fob in the the ignition if you want to leave the kids in the car watching a DVD while you pop in a shop ! not a good design point I think)

Hope it helps

Hi, I've also thought about roof rails getting fitted to my T3. However, the dealer said they couldn't do it, and can only be done in factory for the T Spirit and 180.

Hi I used to work in the Product planning department at Toyota GB and we had this query before. I am afraid these will not fit your vehicle because at factory the T180 & T Spirit are given a different roof to that of the other grades and your SR model is based on a T3 so it will have the T3 factory roof.

Tis true, the rails are not available for the SR and others

There is nowhere you could mount the rails to even if you bought them
