Extensive Oil Consumption

Hi there :)

I am Igor living in Ukraine.

In fact I am new member here and very interested to learn all about Avensis. In last November 2006 I bought my Avensis and was in fact glad to own this car. I purchased it as 2nd hand car from the first owner seller. I could not understand the reason of this car selling but now it is understood the main reason is an extensive oil consumption. The engine consusmes 1.1 ltr/1000 km. During this driving period I have also changed a catalizator converter (76500 km lifetime) -- it was the second reason

OK let's talk about the main problelm with oil ---- I could not track it at first steps of owning and after have checked with deepstick I have casualty disclosed that the oil level is below the bottom mark punched (!!!) -- i was in shock. I have notified dealers that i have a problem and they reply me that these kind models have the same problems and aan Official Toyota maker (in Derbi) knows about it. But this reply from dealer did not satisfy me and i have been trying to catch the maker details in e-net. I found contact details of Toyota in Derbi and moreover tried to call them. My call has been replied by a secretary who gave me a technical department phones. I was very glad to have them and trtied to dial the first number i've had but was disapointed that anyone replied. i tried to dial anothers but the result was the same and I understood that the tech department never talks to client. This fact was said to our dealer in Simferopol, but as I understood they only heard me. I service the car each 10 000 km as per he service schedule and use only 5W30 synthetic oil. During last service (84 000 km)i was talking to the service man and we both suggest that the problem may be also with the valves stems seal cups that scrap oil. I can believe it because these small parts with rubber inserts ca not run mor that 84 000 km. The above is only my suggestion because i do not think that the piston rings can be blocked in the grooves. May be i am mistaken but wonna listen your comments. The car i have purchased was sold from a dealer but not official one in Kiev -- so it means this car can not be covered by Toyota's guarantee. I plan to change all seals cups in 5000 km running, but do not wonna make a mistake -- it is because the real consumption reason is still not clear for me and service centre does not tell me. PLease come back with your comments and suggestions. Thanks beforehand
