Compressor Running Problems

I have had certain issues with my Compressor since I had it, namely the 'hiccup' sometimes when driving it hard after taking it easy.

Mr T eventually fitted an new ECU after a battle with them but the problem persists

I thought it was a fuel pressure sensing thing but I spotted something yesterday which made me reconsider.

Both exhausts are really sooty to the extent that it is covering some of the outside of the tailpipe.

Food for though, if I drive it gentle maybe the plugs are sooting up so when I suddenly accelerate it causes the hiccup.

If I drive it hard the problem is less obvious so maybe the plugs are cleaner ;)

Is it possible that a sensor somewhere is making the car run too rich?

You have been very unlucky with your Compressor :(

Both of my tailpipes are always covered in soot so that should be normal if we are using 98Oct fuel... Tell Toyota to clean or replace your exhaust sensors!! Since your car is stil in warranty they should take 100% care of this ;)

Thanks ponzer, at least the soot sounds normal ;)

I will check the plugs anyway, just to be sure.
