Its comming to that time when l need to change the rear disk brakes.

Im not looking to upgrade the brakes as l have already done that on the front.

Does anyone know the cost of the OEM brakes and im assuming l can just get them from Mr T or am l going to get ripped off if l do.

My question is are they as easy to change is the front brakes?? If not what should l look out for when changing them.

I've seen the OEM rear brakes at £79 Toyota may charge a little extra, you can always shop around, or even ask Parts-King on these boards for a TOC member price.

I have no idea how to change the brakes, sorry, never tried. Others maybe able to help you though.

I had my rear brake pads/discs changed for OEM for £135 all in by my local garage. Don't think the parts would have been that expensive. Maybe around £80 for the discs and pads.

No point in upgrading the rears with performance stuff as these only do about 25% of the braking.

I think the only advantage to uprated rear brakes is when heavy breaking at very high speed. The rear is known to lift up and get skittish. However if the car has been lowered then that should eliminate it, but not completely, so rear brakes should help.

I'm going to change both front and rears in the next few weeks just after my service and MOT.

Send me your VIN/Chassis number and I will price the genuine parts for you, as said previously, I don't think it's worth an upgrade on rear discs/pads because the fronts do most of the work.
