having a quick look the best deal i can get is recovery plus £14.88 a month, with whats happened is this a good or bad deal?

£14.88 a MONTH?

£30 a YEAR

All you need is a tow off the motorway, and if you break down anywhere else they plug in a lap top and diagnose the problem there and then.

Most problems can be fixed via the road side, and as already mentioned, why do you need break down cover for a Toyota?!

The £30 a year deal is only for the first year using a 25% no claim discount if your car has not broken down in the last 12 months prior to taking up membership, which is not so in Gaz's case.

Furthermore if you call them out more than once every TWO years you loose that 25% no claims discount.

That does not sound quite the bargain that it may seem to be at first sight.

With vehicle recovery, you tend to get what you pay for and "Club Toyota" is good value ( It is £59 a year if paid annually and £55 if paid by Direct Debit)

my mate was with RAC and they wanted to charge him £140 to tow him 10 miles. He thought he was covered but there was a clause. It seems like insurance with No claims and stuff, this is my first car, its got 100k on the clock, is getting to the age where things need replacing. I have no no claims and i was genuine about the miles its done. If i paid a bit more ah well have seen green flag at work before when in the car with my dad and know its an alright service. and there was no initial payment which means i may pay a bit higher premiums but i've got cover starting today with my first payment going out when i get paid. which i think is worth a few bob extra

How much does Green Flag's breakdown cover cost?

We tailor our breakdown cover to suit you, your car and your chosen cover level.

What about 'Club Toyota' breakdown, only £55 all in !!!

interested in buying this policy looks great value for money!

it says £55 if paid by direct debit

so does that mean monthly debits of £4.58 ?

it doesnt seem to explain it very well!

thanks

I got mine free when I bought the car (nice) but it looks like such good value I certainly will stay with them.

Thats VERY worrying!!!!! Firstly if further reinforces my theory that people don't, can't "fix" things anymore, -they just replace what the comuter tells them to...

Secondly how exactly are they going to do that to an older car?

I'd personally just like a service that will turn up with a LOW loader and bring my car home when I require it...

So have you tried to get a recovery only service then ?

I would definitely ask, why pay to have some one try to fix your car at side of the road? If you have a specialist car and only want recovering

then that is what they should provide. If you told whoever you are with that you are moving to another company then they wont be long in

checking what they can do.

Guess it saves costs for admin etc to have a pre arranged payment annually.

even my car, is only 14, has a diagnosis port to plug a laptop in lol

thing is most of the time even I have a clue as to whats gone wrong lol

Having a dianostics port is different to having a computer diagnostics port.

My 20 year old supra has one, but its not for laptops, its for proper fault finding. To read error codes you just need about an inch of wire :P

It won't tell you if there is an internal mechanical failure though!

whats stopping someone canceling the direct debit after setting it up for the £55 price?

Nowt, if you want to cancel just phone them up and cancel it then do the same with your bank.
