Parrot Bluetooth Kit

I'm picking up a 2004 Avensis on Friday and one of the first things I want to do is fit a Parrot CK3100 bluetooth kit.

Has anyone else fitted one to a newish Avensis?

If so, how did you need additional ISO cables to connect to the Toyota audio? Is it easy to remove the radio to fit the bluetooth?

Any help would be appreciated,

Cheers

Don't Halfords fit them for you?

Start with the removal of the (wood) trimmig from the dash, at the co-drivers side.

Now you will notice the hidden hardware and start from there.

Suggestion is to tape the sides of the console in which the radio panel resides to avoid damaging.

I used the ISO cables ordered with the Parrot and it worked out of the box.

Sound quality is good, the radio is muted and the front Speakers take over the audio.

I installed the volume control at one of the blank inserts near the stearing wheel.

Yes, the Parrot kit comes wired for an ISO fitment, which the Avensis isn't. You'll need one of there: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Corolla-Avens...1QQcmdZViewItem

I fitted mine last week and am very happy with it. It took me most of a morning as I took my time about it. Masking tape the edges of the stereo as they scratch very easily. I ran the control dial up the side of the stereo and mounted it on the grey feaux-metallic strip next to the cup holder. The mic was run behind the glove box, up the left pillar, across the top of the windscreen (tucked under the roof lining, and was attached using the adhesive mount at the top of the screen to the right of the mirror.

You will need to swap the red and orange wires or it won't ever switch off. Just uplug both fuse holders on the Parrot wiring loom and swap them. I dropped one of the fuses, never to be found again. I had a sod of a time finding a replacement 4.5A fuse as it states is required, but when I took the other fuse out, it was a 5A anyway!

It paired with two of my phones instantly, and works like a dream. Callers can hear me clear as a bell, even at motorway speeds, and I can hear them perfectly through the car Speakers.

I bought the CK3100 Evolution kit, which although is basic compared to some of the later models, works brilliantly.
