03 Celica Key Fob

hey folks.

i recently purchased a 03 celica. the car came with 2 keys. the old key wasnt working but the second key was. i was told that

the Battery in the old key was dead. i have replaced the Battery but the lock / unlock buttons will not work on the old key. the red light does blink and it will start the car but the lock/unlock buttons wont work. does the key need to be programmed? how do i do thiS?

If you have a look in the Celica FAQ's on this forum there's a bit about the Toyota key fob and what you need to do to get it working with your car again. Well worth a try with that first to see how you get on (basically it involves holding down buttons in a certain order). Should fix it (worked for me, after something similar). Link here Keyfob FAQ
