Rav 4.1 And 4.2 Offroad Photos Part 1

I´d like to show you some pictures taken on 30.09.2007 during an off-road event near Gießen/Germany. Thorsten with his 4.1 and I with my 4.2 took part and both RAV´s behaved good on the muddy track (It rained for hours the day before).

My conclusion is:

The RAV is much much better off road as we all think! :D :D :D

At the beginning, everything looked muddy ... but although easy:

... first offroad marks....:

... a bit later...:

"small bumps" avoid to look ahead (Where´s the road, please?)

We are ready!

The best in the end: The "mud hole" (without RAV...)

It was an exiting, funny day with both RAV´s and now the´re clean again. :D :D :D

Hi Ingolf, looks like some good DIRTY fun there. Takes a bit of bottle to take your nice Rav offroad as well for fear of damage.

Well they are very good pictures but I don't think I will be doing any of that with mine!

It's good to see the capabilities and also good to see the vehicles form another of our European colleagues.

Many thanks Ingolf

Incidentally in my brake development days I was visiting Germany frequently. This was mainly Wald Michelbach near Heidelburg, Limburg or Cologn.

Which part are you from?

Regards

Hi Anchorman!

I live in Hadamar, that´s 5km north of Limburg. So you know the region!

Ingolf

Nice one Ingolf.

Our technology centre was at Bad Camberg just by the A3. It is a very nice part of the world and I have fond memories of nights in the town of Limburg.

Cheers!

It looked like super fun ...........if I was driving somebody else's car laugh.gif

But the challenge is to se what YOU and YOUR CAR are able to to! To drive with someone else´s car is not the same!

As you have the possebilety to choose the degree of difficulty you want, the risk of damaging your car is low as long as you see your own limits and drive careful.

@anchorman

I work in Bad Camberg as well and know, for which company you have worked there. I pass their building every morning, when i drive from the A3 to Camberg- City. :)

Good detective work Ingolf!

My colleagues moved out of the technical centre to the production site at Marienheide but we still went at least every month for a meeting. I was based in the UK (except for a short time when I was based in Tennessee) but left the company on the 5th Oct 2003 - 4 years ago today!

They were just testing ICE trains on the new railway at the time.

Nice talking to you.

Errrrrrrrrr.........I agree with the principal, the heart is willing but the head says that the car has got to take me to work the next day, do the shopping etc and I can't afford to repair it if I rip the sump out of it.

At the end of the day I couldn't risk my car unnecessarily just for fun or for the challenge.

Glad you and your friends have fun and more power to you :thumbsup::thumbsup:

It´s the same here! :) :) :)

It was cleaned the next day when I had to go to work and the mud under the car was removed within 3 days.

more power

That was written on the sweatshirt I was wearing that day: "MORE POWER! by Binford"

That's what i like to see, someone getting dirty with a RAV4 :o :D , so the next job now is to get the jet wash out, and get all the muck off  .
