Carlos Sainz Values

Hi all,

I've been put in the unfortuante position of having to think about selling my recently aquired immaculate 1992 Celica Carlos Sainz (number 2697) and look for something a bit more economical...probably something diesel *shudder*.

The car is immaculate, full service history, completely original apart from some after market foglights (professionally fitted)...its even got the original radio and CD player! Its currently got 85k miles on the clock and all the belts have been recently changed.

What should I expect to get for it?

Thanks,

Paul

Tricky one PEB. Seen them go for up to £4,000 in very good condition, but I have a feeling the market is falling somewhat because you can see plenty of ST205s for not much more these days.

There's a fully restored one on GT4OC for £5,250 (IIRC) and that looks fantastic, but nobody seems willing to pay that much.

Have also seen them advertised at well under £3,000 too, but that's probably for an example with a few problems.

Good luck with the sale. I'd like to see the pics when you have them, and sorry to hear that you're selling up so soon.

I'm going to give it a polish this weekend and I'll get a few pics up then. I've got Rally Ireland coming up here in November so that might be a good time to put a couple of signs in the windows :)

You would be supprised bud... I sold my mint ST205 for £4.2k and it had the figure 8's done.

I have seen the ST185CS go for £2.5k with slightly higher milage but not much.. think it was about 95k.

Prices have come down a lot!

i've seen them go for as low as £1800 to as high as £5000, the only way to place a value of a car is to see what people are going to pay. look on autotrader and see what prices they are going for and pitch it round about those, high if you think it's worth more but the general price would be on there

Thanks folks, I've decided to hold onto it after all. I'm going to buy something a bit more economical for the commute to work and hold on to the Celica for the weekends...it is part of motorsport history after all :-)

Heres a couple of pics after I polished it on Friday evening.
