Just Go Some Raiser Blocks

I just bought some ST205 raiser blocks from Hediko98 on eBay for £55. I have drilled 2 holes on each side on the spoiler to screw the blocks to, but what screws do i use. i tried using the original ones, but it just comes loose because the fibreglass spoiler is so soft. How do i fit the blocks securely to the spoiler?

Any help is much appreciated.

You could try using some decent large self tapper screws, like the one's you sometimes get on dashboard trim panels.

Only problem is, the fibreglass is reasonably useless when it comes to !Removed! screws into it, I'd just get a big tube of 'Sikaflex'. I used this on my last car to stick the Hediko spoiler blocks on, and it's very, very strong stuff. Only problem would be that you would have to buy a standard spoiler off another car if ever you wanted to change back to the standard non-wrc spoiler.

Luckly, my new car is a standard WRC... so comes with the spoiler blocks allready. :D

thanks for your reply. Ideally i'd like to be able to remove the blocks if and when i please. I'm interested to know how others have fitted their blocks.

I just stuck them on with sikaflex on my last car.

To be honest, it shouldn't make any difference if they are genuine blocks or the Hediko fibreglass one's, in terms of mounting them to the original spoiler... as the spoiler is fibreglass anyway.

Not too sure what they give you in the spoiler block mounting kit when you buy them from Toyota though.

There are some for sale on eBay, like this one:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sikaflex-221-ADHESIV...1QQcmdZViewItem

They do 221, and 252 sealent. The 221 is more than adequate enough for sticking them on, but they do black and white... so it's up to you which colour you choose. I chose black for mine.

They usually use this in bodyshops for sticking on sideskirts on bodykits and similar. Very strong stuff. :)

Think they should sell it is any half-decent DIY store. :) You will need a sealant gun for applying it out of the tube.

If you can find a non-permanent way of attaching them, then by all means do it. I just found this to be the easiest way (Especially as bodyshops use it all of the time for similar things), plus the added fact the self tappers wouldn't attach to the standard fibreglass spoiler securely enough for my liking. :)
