Noisy Front Pads

Rattling is subversive and spoils the car - I have been told that the caliper arms were originally ?sleeved to combat this but because of seizure problems a recall was carried out which removed these - only to result in rattling ++. Has anyone else experienced this ? I would be most grateful for any advice. Best wishes agit

I think some of your text might be missing and so might not have all the details.

There have been several comments about rattling pads so it might be worth doing a search. Without having a look I don't know if it is the calliper or the pads themselves that are rattling. If its the calliper on the guide pins then I think you are looking at new ones (there are several re-manufacturers or maybe Kingo can give you a good price).

With regard to the pads, my old Corolla used to have stainless steel anti rattle clips that put a little spring pressure on the pads. I'm sure you could obtain some of those. Very often if the car has had pads at some time the clips get discarded because they are fiddly.

It should be cureable without too much difficulty.

Cheers

Many thanks for your helpful advice - I am not sure 100% but I think it may be the calliper itself that is rattling.

Best wishes
