Oil Usage

Hi,

Recently I've checked the oil usage in my TS and noticed that 1/3 of it is gone. I've done around 6500 miles since last change. I have Motul 8100 X-CESS 4W-40.

Isn't that too much? How's your oil consumption?

I would say that is pretty normal. I think if you check your owners manual it may say something about oil consumption specs.... its about 1 litre/ 1000 miles for avensis/corolla (could be wrong though)

Mine manual says that max usage is 1 litre/ 1000 km so it seems is ok :)

I have a 1.3 CDX and it seems to burn little or no oil!

It gets changed at service time but I get bored checking it without need to top up!

Perhaps the higher performanc lump just needs more lube!

Mine previous Yaris 1.3 did not burn oil at all too (maybe a little). I'm curious if it is the same with 1.5 litre engine or it is different.

All all car makers put that in the manual, its to cover themselves if a car does use oil, a well serviced one shouldn't use much at all , an egg cup full between services.

My 1.0 consumes hardly no oil at all but I will check it again before next drive to be sure... :D
