Hello again,

I have been re thinking my speaker plan for my yaris (Which is coming soon) I was wondering, how do you wire component Speakers in that have the crossovers, can the crossovers be wired in via the speaker cable running from the head unit or do they have to be wired to an amp.

Also whats the deepest Speakers anyone had mounted in the doors? My yaris will have electric windows if that makes any difference.

Many thanks.

on your crossover box you have + and - in (from head unit or amp) then + and - out for the woofers and another + and - out for the tweeters, its pretty simple.

as for speaker depth, you can really go very deep at all. i got vibe sek 50's and the window hits them. i dont think leccy windows make a difference as the glass still goes down in the same place.

Thanks for the wiring help on the cross overs, was not sure if you could wire them to the head unit or if they had to go to an amp.

Have you spaced your SEK50s at all? Ive been thinking of the Alpine: SPE-17CS - 17cm component Speakers but I am not sure of the mounting depth.

Does anyone have any experience with these, also would I be safer going for 5.25inch components instead of 6.5s? I know 6.5s do fit, but will 5.25 give me less hassle?

Many thanks.
