Recently Acquired Gt4

Hi,

Picked up my ST205 (94) GT4 yesterday and lovin it! However my first experience of an import and wanted to run something by you guys, (looks like you've got all the answers).

It's a new import and the garage I've bought from have done all the necessary bits to make it UK legal, they've converted the Speedo to MPH, however the car is still showing it's 72,000km with my subsequent miles just adding to that. Can I get the odometer converted to the 44,000 miles that it should read and if so where's good (North East based).

Any help much appreciated as I say I'm new to imports and these forums too, so I certainly will be using them to get the right info.

Thanks

Sorry, don't have the answer to your question. However, I will be picking up my GT-4 (also 1994 and I am also new to imports) next week. If no one has responded by then I will let you know what they have done to mine.

In the meantime if anyone does have an answer, I will also be interested to know the answer

Cheers for that. Having looked on web can't see anyone obvious, may try Toyota or a couple local garages. Defintely something I would like sorting though.

done it to mine when i got a new set of gauges, it took the speedo out of the dash, took it apart, removed the locking pin and turned the numbers manually. as it's electronically controlled i'm not sure if many places could sort it any other way

So it's a DIY job, well I want it sorting so I'll have to get my hands dirty...

Easy job is it? Or should I set aside a whole Saturday?

Thanks

i'd set aside a day, just realised your's is a 205, so could take longer or less than what i've described as it was a 185 i had

Just picked up my GT-4 today :yahoo:. I had a look at the speedo and the dealer has converted the speedo to read to MPH.

mate its clocking the car at the end of the day. u can turn it to what ever u want to. but the digits mite no line up right. if ur speed is converted to mph then it will go on the clock as miles (providing that the deal has went down the electronic route and not just sure wee stickers on wher he thinks the mhp wud B). the thing is with imports they hardly ever come with service history if ur lucky enuf to get 1 with a service history in japan then i wud leave the clock a km. mine was an import and i never turned the clock back. it now reads 119000. i can understand y u wud want to do it tho.

I recently aquired mine to. Theres companies around that you send your clocks off to and they will change your kilometers to what it would be in miles and certificate it so its all legal. May cost upto £100 though.
