First timer here, just wanting to say hi and grab some advice if possible.

Bought a 53 plate Corolla T-Sport 2 weeks ago and thought it had a parcel shelf rattle which turns out to be a loose spoiler. The left hand side of the spoiler is rock solid but the right hand side can be lifted up about 5mm. I can just about see a bolt coming from the spoiler into a hole in the boot lid around 5 inches in from the right hand edge of the spoiler.

Anyone know how I can get access to the nut, or whatever the bolt is meant to go in to? To me it looks like I can't get to the inner skin of the boot lid (because it's spot welded) where I assume the bolt is.

Cheers in advance, Paul.

Hey, welcome to the club!

The spolier is held on with a combination of bolts and special double sided sticky type adhesive, similar stuff used for sticking on license plates, I have no idea how you can get to the bolt, but if others on the boards have no idea either then maybe you could cut down the sticky tabs to size and slide them inbetween the gap for it to stick better and stop the rattling/lifting up. Otherwise if you want it properly bonded a bodyshop or toyota dealer should be able to do it.

Hope that helps.

Armz.

thanks for the welcome!

I've got the car booked in tomorrow with the garage I bought it from, hopefully they'll sort it out, I just wanted to make sure they did it properly!

Cheers, Paul.

I have a sneeking suspicion they will do the quick fix with the sticky pads (3 for 99p from Halfords, 1mm thickness). As time is money for them, i doubt they will take apart the rear area to get to the bolts, unless you make sure and insist they do it properly, otherwise you will keep going back till it's done properly.

Good luck tomorrow.
