Central Locking Problem

Hi there,

can anybody help please. I have a 1998 R reg gs model

Yesterday evening went to unlock car with key fob and nothing. Used key to enter car from drivers door.

Unlocked all doors and tried remote locking/unlocking again. Nothing.

Also switch on drivers door does not lock/unlock doors. In fact I cannot use the central locking at all. Today changed

batteries in key fob. Still no good. Checked the fuses I think are relevant according labels on covers. No good.

The previous week I have been noticing it was taking two or three goes to unlock the car doors remotely from key. But

always locked first time remotely. Any help with this problem would be much appreciated.

Change the DOME fuse in the engine compartment. I had this fault and yours seems similar.

The fuse does not actually blow but deteriates. The resistance gets higher, so the central locking ceases to work.

This has been mentioned in other posts.
