Some Day My Prius Will Come

SATURDAY BEFORE LAST

Me: I've heard that delivery on the Prius can take four weeks or more.

Dealer: No! A week ten days.

Mw: OK, lets order it!

LAST THURSDAY

Salesman: The ship is docking some time next week in Southampton. Then it has to go to [somewhere up north, I believe]. Then it will be delivered here [Hampshire] and after we've had it for a couple of days, you can come and collect it.

Me: So how loge will that have been since I ordered it?

Salesman: Er.. about a month, sir.

That is strange becuase I ordered mine last Saturday and am picking it up this Saturday.

Strange! is the boat docking in Southampton to drop yours off before it goes on the Portbury to deliver everybody elese? lol,

Seriously, I wish salesmen would stress to a customer the screen ETA is exactly that, an ESTIMATED delivery date, boats are delayed, customs hold boats up, things have to be fitted when they are released into the compound over here. I guess they want to give the best ETA possible but probably what has happened is they do an ETA for say a Silver Prius, the ETA is 7-10 days, you order the car, the car actually gets ordered maybe the following day after sales admin do their bit, then when the order is placed, 3 Silver Prius have been ordered nationally, and yours is number three in line when there are only two on the boat, you then have to wait the extra time while another boat comes in.

It will be worth the wait, you have made an excellent choice

You are all lucky bunnies - I have to wait 4 months in Holland for my Prius!! I have a 4 year old Prius on loan in the meantime from the garage I am buying my car.

My wife placed the order for her T-Spirit on a Sunday and picked it up from the dealer 9 days later.... I call that 'good service' :D
