I'm going to Germany for a few days at the beginning of next month & want to get my locks smoothed over while I'm away so I need a reliable bodyshop in the area to sort them out for me. Any recommendations?

Here's how the lock looks now:

& want it to look like:

Thanks all

To be honest, I've never even considered that. Wouldn't that be more difficult than getting them smoothed over though?

well i know people do it on the mk3s and cant see it being harder to change a handle, just disconnect the lock and handle, unbolt and there you go

Sounds good, I'll look into that.

In the meantime though, anybody know of a good bodyshop?

Update - I've been speaking to a lad on another club who's meets I've been planning on going to & he's said if I buy 1 of the rear locks like you mention Hou, he'll fit it for me at 1 of the meets so it's all looking good. Just need to get 1 bought & get my backside to a meet & I'll be sorted

and just think how much cash i just saved you!

If I do it I owe you a pint.

Can't be that much to get locks smoothed over at a bodyshop though can it? You can buy a metal disc to block the keyhole from any VW dealer for about £10 but I think it'll look far better without a lock at all so that's why I started looking at getting them smoothed over

well they would have to remove them, fill them (which can crack of sag), plastic primer them and get the correct colour match!

or charge you more and lie by putting rear ones on!

Just remember to not remove the boot lock as thats the only way your getting in if the Battery fails
