got in my 93 2.4 surf the other day and the speedo was,nt working , came on after about a minutes driving , done the same again a few times since , any ideas why this is happening ????????????????

Probably one or both of the sensors are breaking down or the plug is loose on it.

The last two sensors on the transmission, just before the propshaft are the speed sensor and speedo drive.

Or a dodgey kmph to mph geared converter that is failing....

has it had uk speedo faces installed.

just that on mine the needle was clipping the clock face cos the person who did it pushed the needle on too far . thus the needle stuck at certain points, mainly when the sun had been shining inside the cab all day .
