Starlet Part Identification

HI all. Im gavin

I have a 1998 EP91 starlet sportif. My mum owned it before me and had an engine change because it went bang. The only place i can find the engine code is on the dissz cap. 4e-fe it also has a "16v EFI" Badge on top of the inlet manifold.

Anyway there are two parts connected to the inlet manifold with bolts pluging the pipes coming from them, one of them has a connector but in not connected to anything. Pics below. i was just wondering what the parts were and what they would of done.

Also what car could this engine be from.
